1. The Operating Principle of EL products
The typical EL products are consisted of light emitting phosphor sandwiched between two conductive electrodes. When an AC voltage is applied to the electrodes, the electric field causes the phosphor to rapidly charge and discharge, resulting in the emission of light during each cycle. The number of light pulses is determined by the magnitude of applied voltage, so the brightness and color of EL products will vary subject to the change of the operating voltage and frequency. For example, increasing the voltage increases lamp brightness, whereas increasing the frequency will increase lamp brightness and change the color slightly to blue. However, increasing voltage and frequency will reduce the life span of EL products.
2. EL Illuminating Theory
Theory is the material layer converts the electrical power into light, illustrating as the following: |

3. EL (Electroluminescence) is an unique light source,
its characters are as follows:
● Light emits through flat surface, not dot emission.
● Visible light without afterglow.
● Thin light of 0.4~0.7 mm in thickness.
● Slight weight around 0.1~0.2g/cm2 only.
● Flexible back and forth, not rigid light source.
● Heat-free when you turn it on.
|
4. The advantages of EL products:
● Light and thin
● Flexible and can be shaped to your needs
● Uniform luminosity with no heat or ultraviolet rays emitted
● Low operating current
● Available in different colors
● Selective lighted areas according to your needs

5. The useful life of EL products
The brightness of EL products will gradually decrease over long period of use instead of catastrophically or abrupt failure. The useful life of EL products is affected by voltage, frequency, temperature and humidity. It's difficult to quantify useful life because of variation use, environment and operating conditions. Generally, under well operating conditions, EL products useful life can be define in term of the time it takes the EL product brightness to decrease to a percentage of its original value.

EL inverter transforms direct current (DC) from a battery or other DC power source to an AC voltage to light up EL products. This results in the lowest heating, highest transfer of energy, lowest radio-frequency interference and the least degradation of the lamp phosphors.
EL drivers not only provide the power source to light up the EL products as what the inverter does, it also control the lighting up of different patches of area on a single piece of EL product, to achieve a splendid animated effect.
We can provide many types of DC/AC inverters accordingly for any custom-made EL products. The choice of correct inverter is critical to the success of EL performance. Please contact us to obtain a complete listing of suggested products.
